CCPS Removes Barrier for Nearly 24,000 Students

July 23, 2019

Every year thousands of students take the SAT (the standardized test that most universities in the U.S. require prior to admission) as the first step toward college application and admission. But for every child who takes the SAT test there is another child who can’t take the SAT because of cost, lack of transportation and/or time.

A new initiative, PSAT/SAT for ALL, will level the playing field for all Chesterfield County students and open the door to educational and career opportunities.

PSAT/SAT for ALL will help CCPS 8th grade students prepare for their high school experience as the SAT practice test, PSAT, will now be administered to 8th and 9th grade students (two years earlier than most school systems.) The PSAT includes a career interest/strength survey that will be an additional resource for students as they determine whether to pursue a traditional high school experience, apply to an academic specialty center or seek a technical/career education track.

For the first two years this initiative will depend on the community and people like you.
